According to a survey conducted in 2018 more than 73 percent of the organisation would have at least one of their application online on the cloud and this number is eventually going to increase and it is apparent that more than 90 percent of  them are going to have the information up in cloud  so that they can live up to their full potential.

The companies are definitely going to shift their much-needed organisation to cloud strategies from low-end infrastructure as a service (IaaS) instead of extracting valuable data from their business. The organisation that is working towards digital transformation and are working for gaining momentum through traditional methods are definitely going to run into major obstacles as traditional IT cannot traverse the new hybrid IT sphere easily.

The companies are now adopting ‘digital first’ or ‘Cloud first’ strategy and also for them to be the real driver in the innovation and growth they need to be flexible and independent platforms.

The question that arises is how are these tech companies actually going to do that?

While large tech companies and start-ups have started adopting the technology, still certain companies lag behind due to a single factor that the companies think that ‘lift and shift’ is the end of the transferring the company’s data and application.

The additional Trends that Enterprises are going to see in Cloud Strategy 2019 are:

Prioritising Public Cloud

The digital transformation is now the topmost priority for every sector and enterprise, even the government sector companies and portals are going through the digital transformation.

It is now the preferred platform for the existing and any of the new companies that are incorporated. The public cloud space is considered the enabler of the digital transformation. Moreover, it is known to accelerate the change of the company and bringing it in the digital world.

The enterprises through the public cloud can inculcate all the emerging technology such as blockchain and artificial intelligence in their developing process and can even bring in their application process on the cloud.

In 2018 the IT buyers were highly prioritising and focussing on the cloud features, their top priority was to cut down the cost and bring down the competitors.

Serverless Computing

More and more companies are moving towards serverless computing now, the enterprise adoption is now exploding towards an architecture that is inspired with cloud-native architecture. The lures of serverless computed have attracted companies such as Netflix, Amazon, and Mapbox.

Serverless computing is relatively a new trend among the tech world and is an exciting advancement in a cloud service enterprise.

To understand it clearly, it is a type of cloud service where the hosting providers manage application and then distribute the resources for business management rather than just charging for specific servers in advance; Serverless method charges as you go, model, where you pay for the use instead of paying for any specific time frame.

Innovation Is the Key

The companies or start-ups that are developing a product focus on serverless technologies so that they don’t have to make any infrastructure and so that they can just focus on their product and not deviate from their plan.

The companies such as Google work on their cloud computing regularly and with this innovation, it is apparent that they are focussing on retention of consumers through rolling out best and new technological services.

SaaS Ecosystem is on an Upswing

Companies are no longer seeking the answer through in-house solutions they are focussed on only outbound strategic alliances or integration as if they start finding answers to the problems in-house only, the companies are going to exhaust their resources.

The key to success in the cloud is SaaS market business structure is no more the features of the software, but whose software provides seamless cloud services hence the companies are advised to focus on the user experience rather than just on the services.

The current size of Indian IT industry is a 167-billion-dollar company that is increasing in size every year, and if your services provide seamless user experience and the integration of your software in their business is easier and cost-effective, the companies are likely to flock towards your company.

In supply chain intensive industry there is a strong need of sharing information among all the industries whether is healthcare, government or manufacturing.

Push on Multi-Stage Cloud Strategies

The business operations with sensitive information are still storing or distributing the data on the premise itself, due to regulatory requirement and security. Hence if these companies enter the cloud platform, they are definitely going to shy away from the cloud that works on ‘one cloud fits all.’

They understand that not every information should be stored in the public cloud space and hence the requirement for hybrid cloud generates.

The hybrid cloud works on the principle of combination of on-premise(private) and public cloud space architecture so that the person can use both whenever the requirement strikes. Business is going to derive value after embracing these hybrid multi-cloud approaches.

For managing these hybrid servers, the companies will have to equip themselves with teams for job titles such as Cloud architect, cloud project manager, cloud automation engineer.

Upfront with Security

As the incorporated companies establish a cloud platform for their company, they will pick a cloud service provider that has developed an application that has well-established security in place to protect their application as well as their sensitive information.

It is common among companies to manage their data through multiple vendors, and this obviously introduces risk and creates vulnerability. To overcome these challenges, the developers can integrate security at an earlier stage that will help in mitigating the risk factor.

Incorporating best security practices into every facet of the applications at the design and deployment stage that will instil greater visibility control and protection.

Why Now?

With the enterprises entering the cloud the IT companies such as Amazon, IBM and Microsoft are excited and are preparing themselves with the best security through blockchain and AI. The companies have also obtained Intellectual property registration for them.

The notion of flexible and modular IT has been in vogue for the past 10 years but for companies to incorporate this technology still remains largely a theoretical concept that is changing continuously and the lack of well-established connectivity platform for information is going to cost them in the functionality front as without cloud support the companies will have to manage through their own physical effort.

Moreover, the end game in 2019 has changed drastically for cloud options and other IT platforms. The general IT spending in 2020 is going to increase 6 times at this spending rate.
