From the drawing board Arvind

What is the most exciting thing you’ve learned?

Our company’s vision is to simplify the world’s choices. And that requires us to break down complex problems into simple solutions (or choices) for end users. My role is to build intuitive user interfaces to simplify the decision-making process.

My time at Crayon is one of the steepest learning curves I’ve faced so far in my career: every day I encounter new challenges, which pushes me out of my comfort zone. The most fun and rewarding experience has got to be building applications that have a real impact for our clients.

What is it like working with Crayons?

Crayons strongly believe in our values, and this reflects in our work, our day-to-day interactions and in the atmosphere at the office Everyone in the company has such high energy levels – it’s contagious! They’re always ready to help you solve your problems. Crayons will always have your back, come rain or shine. The Crayons I’ve worked with have taught me things that I can apply in both my personal and professional lives.

What are some of the tech and tools you get to play with in your role?

I develop user interfaces and write APIs for custom applications we build for our clients. I’ve had the opportunity to explore tools and technologies such as ReactJS, NodeJS and GraphQL to build single page applications. I tinker with these tools to create seamless user experiences.

What kind of support do you receive from your teammates / the company?

I wasn’t an experienced developer when I first joined Crayon. Yet my team trusted my skills. Their trust helped me push beyond my limits and learn everything I needed to know to carry out my role perfectly. When the pandemic hit us, the management kept the physical and financial health of all Crayons in mind. I really appreciate the transparency in their decisions and communication. Lastly, my fellow team members were helpful and supportive throughout my journey here. The Crayon Box is definitely a colorful place to be!
